Intermediate Bird Taxidermy

$895.00

Intro to Birds is a pre-requisite for this workshop. If you have taken a similar course, please email for authorization. This is a continuation of our bird taxidermy foundation. If you purchase without approval, your fee can be used towards other classes and workshops.

In Intermediate Birds February 14th & 15th, you will continue your bird taxidermy with a new challenge- Chukar!

A small, plump game bird with striking markings will offer a different feel and experience from the European Starlings. More to skin, clean, and feather. We will use pre-made bodies so you have more time to focus on anatomical accuracies. You will become confident setting the eyes, inserting the wires, forming muscles of the legs and wings, and develop a better eye for feather groups. Your closed wing chukar will leave on a temporary base. If you would like to mount on a specific piece of wood (or other) bring it along. Studio will supply tools and materials.

Each day is about 6-8 hours of instruction starting at 10am, a short lunch break around 1pm.

This workshop is dedicated to making sure each student has ample instruction throughout the process. Students come away with a new admiration for birds from a different perspective. 18 and up, unless guardian participates in the class alongside the youth. Please email with questions before booking.

*Strongly encourage students take Taxidermy Reference & Recording (Upland Birds) as we do not cover this process over this weekend.
