An introduction to preparing and preserving lepidoptera.

This class is designed for beginners that want to learn how to pin butterflies and moths. You will practice rehydrating techniques, correct handling, and spreading your own specimens. We will discuss how to sustainably source insects, proper storage, and demo how to tackle degreasing.

The class includes: your own pinning board, 4 specimens, pinning forceps, glassine paper, and pins to spread your specimens.

Must be 18 or a guardian must take the class alongside the youth participant. Please email with questions before booking.
